Description
Of Item
This is a very popular type of necklace, worn by both Navajo and Pueblo women. It came from a Santo Domingo family, which is unusual in that they normally don''t sell their old family pieces. It was definatly made in the 1940s or earlier. The jaclas, which are tied at the bottom of the necklace are actually earrings, and in the early days were worn by both Navajo and Pueblo Indian women. Today they are usually tied to the necklace, giving the necklace its distinctive look.
